- Select your size and length, then add to bag.
- On the bag page, type the colour of your choice in the "Note to The Slow Wardrobe" box.
- Check out as usual.
- Your order will take 2-4 weeks to produce. You will receive a shipping notification as soon as it is on its way to you.
The Cap Tunic and Playsuit got together and made...the Capsuit!
The cut and fit follows the same lines as the Love Dress, Tunic and Top. So if those garments are a good fit, then the Capsuit will be as well!
Unlike the Playsuit, which has the big armholes of the Smock and Tabard and is meant to be worn with a top underneath, the Capsuit can be worn by itself. Just covering the tops of your arms, there is no need to wear anything underneath (although of course it's perfectly possible to do so!).
Just like the Playsuit, it looks fabulous on, feels like the most comfortable piece of clothing you have ever worn and you don't have to take it off when you go to the loo! AND it looks great regardless of age, shape and size of the wearer. Honestly, what's not to like?
You throw it on like a dress, then close it with a clever zip AT THE BOTTOM!
Available in the usual typical 4 Layercake sizes but also in 3 different lengths, because the Layercake motto is EVERY ✧ BODY ✧ HAPPY
A note about the colours
It is difficult to show a true colour impression of some of the cross-weaves. If in doubt, use our fabric swatch order-service HERE to request some swatches before deciding.
A note about lengths
When we offer garments in more than one length, we do not just add or take away some fabric at the bottom of the garment. We change the proportions of the garment throughout. So a shorter version will suit a shorter frame at every point, same for a longer one. Example: if you usually order a regular length Playsuit and would like to try the Petite version for a cropped look, then it will fit you fine but you will notice that e.g. the pockets will hit you a bit higher on your hips.
The Slow Wardrobe sizes
We follow our own sizing system, recognising that the traditional system of "ladies dress-sizes" does not account for body shape and height. See how The Slow Wardrobe sizes relate to body measurements HERE.
Capsuit
4 sizes and 3 lengths, designed to fit a very wide range of sizes and heights, from a UK size 10 to 28. Check these garment measurements to give you an idea of the fit for each size. NOTE: length measurements are taken from the top of the shoulder straight down to the bottom hem.
Compared to the Playsuit, the bust measurement of the Capsuit is more generous and has some bust shaping. It therefore suits a wider range of busts and can be worn without a top underneath.

Linen Care & Washing Instructions
Every Layercake has washing labels sewn into them, usually in the left side-seam. All our linen is pre-shrunk, unless stated otherwise and can be machine-washed at 40º C and either line-dried or machine-dried. If you machine-dry them, take them out of the dryer as soon as it finishes and hang them up straightaway, then you will not have to iron them.
Our Linen
Linen is one of the world's strongest textiles and most sustainable fashion choices, creating zero waste as every part of the plant is used (for textiles and food). Our linen is all European grown, yarn-dyed and woven especially for us, then boil-washed to pre-shrink it.

Wearability
Linen is not only a Summer fabric, it is also a natural insulator, providing warmth when it is needed and offering the perfect base for a layered look, trapping air between the layers to keep you cozy year-round.
