Layercake Wool Palazzos - Made to Order
Regular price £219.00Details
Available in gorgeous wool fabrics for the first time!
Whereas the HiLo's and Baggies are VERY roomy, the Palazzos are an almost-straight, wide-legged pant. Just like the idea behind the HiLo's and Baggies, you can choose to wear them either cropped or full-length. When worn full-length, the Palazzos show a loooong leg-line, at least touching the top of your foot, ideally ALMOST touching the ground. When worn cropped, they look slightly preppy, like ever-popular and versatile Culottes.
They LOOK straight when on but they are shaped to accommodate hips and tummies in such a way that that long line is maintained without expecting you to change your body shape first, as so often is the case when looking for new clothes that fit you rather than feeling you need to fit the clothes...
Sizing
Just like the Baggies and HiLo's, Palazzos are available in two lengths.
But unlike the Baggies and HiLo's, they are available in three sizes: Small, Large and Extra Large. Click the FIT GUIDE tab below this text for measurements. If in doubt, drop me a line and I'll be happy to help!
If a certain fabric/size shows the "add to bag" option, then there are 2 possibilities:
1. We have some ready-made in stock (shown directly above the "add to bag" button).
2. It is a pre-order, i.e. we have to make it for you. If this is the case, you will be able to put it in your cart and order it, and you'll realise that we won't be able to ship immediately (pre-orders usually take between 2-4 weeks, up to 6 weeks during very busy times like Oct-Nov)
PLEASE NOTE: standard-sized made to order garments CAN be returned for a refund!
If you need an outfit for a special occasion, please contact me BEFORE placing your order to ensure it can be made and shipped to reach you in time.
If we have run out of stock AND fabric, it will show as "No longer available" and you will not be able to add it to your cart, it truly is all gone.
Wool Care & Washing Instructions
Note: all Layercakes have washing labels sewn into them, usually in the left side-seam. We recommend washing wool as little as possible. Wool Layercakes tend not to be worn next to the skin and can be kept going for a long time before a wash is really necessary. Any spills etc. can most easily be removed by spot-cleaning with some water and a cloth.
When it is time to wash, we recommend hand-washing. Wool cycles of different washing machines vary, so while you know your washing machine best, if in doubt stick to hand-washing. There are a number of hand-washing detergent brands (we sell Soak) that can be added to the water, add the garment, wet it thoroughly and then just let it sit. Take the garment out of the water, no rinse necessary, and put it dripping wet in the washing machine for a short spin cycle and hang to dry. Wool Layercakes can also be dry-cleaned.
Our Wool
We produce wool Layercakes in smaller quantities compared to linen, so we rarely have fabric custom-woven for us. The rest of our wool fabrics have been woven in the UK by other manufacturers, but become surplus to their production needs. This gives small businesses like The Slow Wardrobe access to high-quality, often custom-woven wool fabrics in small quantities.
