Pattern: Chunky Sock
Regular price £3.00The starting point for these socks is 2 strands of regular sock yarn knitted together on thicker needles to create thicker, chunky socks to slob around in at home or keep feet toasty in walking boots or wellies. The yarns used are regular sock yarns, so they won’t wear through at the heels or toes. You can substitute with regular yarns, as long as you realise that the resulting socks are not suitable to be worn in shoes or boots.
The main body of the socks is knitted in a diamond and kite pattern that has a 12 stitch repeat. That works very well with these chunky socks but can also be used with a single sock yarn knitted on 2.5 mm needles as you’ll need 60 stitches, which is also a multiple of 12.
Difficulty: If you’ve knitted socks before: easy. If these are your first socks: intermediate
