The garment pictures show you the shape of the Long Synergy Duster in the 4 checked fabrics available as well as Black Gingham. However, the Synergy Duster is now also available in the Medium length and there are many colours to choose from - 24 in total, grouped into 3 colour charts
How to order your Pre-order Duster:
- Select one of the Checks or the colour chart that shows the colour of your choice.
- Select your preferred length, ties/no ties and add yarn+patterns if you like, then add to bag.
- On the bag page, type the colour of your choice in the "Note to The Slow Wardrobe" box.
- Check out as usual.
- Your order will ship by 11 October or before. You will receive a shipping notification as soon as it is on its way to you.
The Duster is a one-size-fits-all Layercake. As always, the design was based on fitting frames between 5 and 6 foot in height and between UK dress sizes 10 - 26 (EU 38 - 54, US sizes 6 - 22). The measurements in the size guide are taken with the garment lying flat. The front panels overlap a couple of inches when its lying flat, which can be secured with ties if you choose them to be fitted when you place your order. The Duster is designed to be worn loose, so there is a LOT of freedom in terms of sizing.
The Synergy Duster has the same dimensions as the Duster but without the sleeves.
Knitted Sleeves/Shawl Option
The original idea was to add linen yarn and a pattern to knit your own sleeves (with the same shape and length as the sleeves in the regular Dusters) but it has rather taken off as a sleeveless swagger-rich layer to complement other Layercakes.
So now the addition of yarn and a pattern to knit your own sleeves is an optional extra, just like the option to have you Synergy Duster with or without ties.
If you opt to include the knitting kit, your Synergy Duster comes to you with yarn (200gms of Layercake Linen 3-ply) and a pattern to knit sleeves as well as the pattern for the Soepeler long Scarf (in case you prefer to keep the garment without sleeves and knit the Soepeler Scarf instead).
The Slow Wardrobe sizes
We follow our own sizing system, recognising that the traditional system of "ladies dress-sizes" does not account for body shape and height. See how The Slow Wardrobe sizes relate to body measurements HERE.

We do everything we can to be truly size-inclusive. We can highly individualise your Layercake, by adapting the standard fit and/or choosing a non-standard fabric/colour.

Linen Care & Washing Instructions
Every Layercake has washing labels sewn into them, usually in the left side-seam. All our linen is pre-shrunk, unless stated otherwise and can be machine-washed at 40º C and either line-dried or machine-dried. If you machine-dry them, take them out of the dryer as soon as it finishes and hang them up straightaway, then you will not have to iron them.
