I promised last year to do this again if you liked it, so following the success of the colourful shawls I sourced last Autumn I have added some again this season, in colours specifically chosen to complement the latest Layercake Cross-weaves.

I buy these in very small quantities only; they are first come - first serve. If any design proves particularly popular I will try to buy some more but I cannot guarantee their availability.

These shawls are all 70 x 190cm in size, but there is some variation in their composition - see below

PERSIAN TAPESTRIES
Composition: 75% Wool, 25% Modal - wispy fringes on all sides
A very exciting design containing a huge selection of colours, achieved by a caleidoscope of differently sized sections that each look like a miniature Persian Rug

TALE OF TWO PATTERNS
Composition: 100% Wool - wispy fringes on all sides
A sheer weave of wool fibres printed with a bold design of reds, pinks and wool white, offset with different motifs at either end, in Turmeric, Green and Teal

ABSTRACT FLOWERS
Composition: 92% Wool, 8% Silk - short fringe at either end
A slightly more dense weave with a repeating pattern of abstract flowers in Magenta, Pebble and Green on a rich Orange background

LILAC WINE
Composition: 100% Wool - wispy fringes on all sides
The centre panel, in a deep burgundy colour with a dotted pattern in navy and black,
fades into swirly patterns in the same colours  on a lilac background

STRIPES
Composition: 92% wool, 8% silk
The stripes in this finely woven wool shawl match with a crazy number of Layercake Linen colours. If you like the idea of a wool shawl that goes with EVERYTHING in your Layercake wardrobe, this is your choice

FADED SPARKLE
Composition: 58% wool, 22% modal, 20% lurex
A slightly more dense weave (similar to the Abstract Flowers) yet the most ethereal in colour, the motifs on this shawl look like parts of faded tapestries. Then along the length of the shawl the outer edges are shot with fine silver lurex thread, whereas the middle section isn't. The overall effect is understated and eye-catching at the same time
