This pre-order closes at the end of Monday 10 March. Your dresses will ship by the end of the month latest. Returning customers may apply their loyalty discount on top of the pre-order discount. Pre-ordered Layercakes can always be returned or exchanged. If you order any ready-to-ship items together with your pre-order, the entire order will ship when your pre-ordered garment is ready. For separate shipment, please place separate orders.
The days are lengthening and it is time for a dress that celebrates Spring and Summer with an abundance of fabric. I just realised that the word "abundance" includes the word "dance". I hope the Swish Dress will make you want to move...if not dance, then at least SWISH!
The Swish Dress includes the comfortable sleeve-line of the Love Dress but with the more fitted, rounded neckline of the Crofter Top. This time, I have added a slash down that can be closed with the attached ties or left open to create a V-shape. Instead of the sleeves have the bracelet-length of the Love Dress sleeves, the Swish sleeves have a 10cm/4in closed cuff that allows you to fold them up to create a shorter sleeve for warmer days.
The skirt is gathered onto the bodice with an empire waistline (= above your natural waist) and flows down to your choice of length. Of course there are BIG pockets sewn into the side seams of the skirt.
Depending on your measurements and preference, the Swish can either be worn more fitted or loose for an oversized fit.
Styling tips:
Bottoms: wear with ANY Layercake bottoms, the Breeches and Slackers look particularly good
Cocoons: a Cocoon outfit of Baggies and a Love or Anytime Top form a great base-layer on colder days

We do everything we can to be truly size-inclusive. We can highly individualise your Layercake, by adapting the standard fit and/or choosing a non-standard fabric/colour.

Linen Care & Washing Instructions
Every Layercake has washing labels sewn into them, usually in the left side-seam. All our linen is pre-shrunk, unless stated otherwise and can be machine-washed at 40º C and either line-dried or machine-dried. If you machine-dry them, take them out of the dryer as soon as it finishes and hang them up straightaway, then you will not have to iron them.

Linen is one of the world's strongest textiles and most sustainable fashion choices, creating zero waste as every part of the plant is used (for textiles and food). Our linen is all European grown, yarn-dyed and woven especially for us, then boil-washed to pre-shrink it.
